Frequently asked questions

How does timenow.click know my local time?

It reads the clock and time zone settings of the device you are using. Nothing is sent to us: the time is worked out in your browser.

What does UTC mean?

UTC is Coordinated Universal Time, the world's time standard. Every time zone is described as an offset from UTC, for example UTC+01:00 or UTC−05:00.

How do I find the time difference between two cities?

Use Compare two places: choose a city in From and another in To. You will see how many hours apart they are, both live times, and you can convert any time from one city to the other.

Does the clock adjust for daylight saving time?

Yes. Every time comes from the IANA time zone database that is built into your browser, so clock changes for daylight saving time are applied automatically.

Why does a country have more than one time zone?

Large countries such as the United States, Russia, Brazil and Australia stretch across many degrees of longitude, so different regions keep different local times. Search for a country to see all of its time zones.
